Electrical Pipeline Technician Job Overview Did you know that our pipelines group currently manages and maintains 1,0 mi of pipelines across Canada and the United States? Are you electrically and mechanically savvy and looking for an opportunity to join our dynamic team? Reporting to the supervisor, facilities, you will install, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic pipeline equipment, to ensure a safe, reliable and environmentally sound operation. Key Accountabilities Ensure your areas are maintained in a safe and reliable way Coordinate and ensure the completion of required electrical and instrumentation maintenance repairs to assets Perform the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of pipeline equipment Respond to one-call tickets in addition to revising and updating all SAP, CBTS and OQ’s training to industry and regulatory standards Participate in discussions regarding the analysis of a deficiency Participate in occupational health and safety, loss control and emergency response programs focusing on maintaining environmental integrity and the overall health and safety of yourself and others Update red line drawing as necessary and plan work, including evaluation and selection of equipment Participate in the emergency response team and become an auxiliary firefighter through in-house training to serve as a first responder in the event of pipeline emergencies Required Qualifications Experience and Education: Minimum four years as a journeyman or master's electrical license Experience with 4160 volts and below and well versed with the national electrical code College diploma in instrumentation and controls, or an equivalent is preferred High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of communication and control equipment, digital and analog circuitry, pumps, motors, valves and medium voltage equipment, pressure, temperature and flow rate levels; working knowledge of control loops 4-20MA Proficient in reading various electrical/electronic drawings such as schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic and one-lines Exceptional proven communication skills, attention to detail, analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets You have a positive and adaptive work style with the ability to handle multiple priorities and challenging demands and you are able to work in a dynamic work environment with diverse groups You possess a strong safety mindset that includes safe work methods and risk analysis in an industrial setting and able to determine continuous improvement opportunities Working Conditions Flexible to work overtime when required and able to work with minimal supervision Regular business travel between remote locations This role requires you to perform some heavy lifting, work from heights with the capability of performing in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces Why SuncorGo ahead.
