Auto req ID 1243BR Title Sr. Pipeline Integrity Engineer Location Springfield, VA Job Description Summary: Responsible for implementing various aspects of the Integrity Management Program (IMP) for both transmission and integrated high-pressure pipeline systems, including, but not limited to; the prevention, assessment, and mitigation of corrosion. Functions as a subject matter expert for pipeline integrity management, and conducts analyses and makes recommendations for continuous improvements to pipeline safety and reliability. Responsible for the corrosion engineering design and technical support for the Corporate Engineering Unit. Tasks & Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing programs to assess corrosion, including in-line inspection and direct assessment. Provide corrosion engineering design and technical support for Corporate Engineering unit. Select and implement various pipeline control and evaluate technologies. Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of the federally-mandated pipeline Integrity Management Program (DOT 192, Subpart O). Develop internal systems and mechanisms to capture and track field data. Support regulatory audits with subject matter expertise and knowledge of integrity assessments and results. Reviewsthird party inspection and engineering reports and recommends actions as a consequence of the findings. Develops and present reports for Integrity Management. Assess pipeline inspection and assessment results and makes repair recommendations. Implement Root Cause Analysis as required. Develop scope, schedule, and cost estimates and then manages all aspects of pipeline integrity projects. Review proposals for third-party pipeline integrity services and selects contractors and consultants. Skills & Abilities: Bachelor s degree required. Professional Engineer certification preferred. A minimum of five (5) years related experience is required. Experience with pipeline integrity and/or corrosion control, preferable. Project management experience preferred. NACE Certification in Cathodic Protection preferred. Experience with pipeline risk assessment models preferred. Experience with in-line inspection preferred. Familiar with various non-destructive testing methods Working knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192, ASME B31.8, and NACE codes and standards. Proven ability to evaluate external pipeline integrity assessment reports. Proven ability to conceptualize and analyze multiple scenarios in solving broadly-defined business problems. Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information. Proven ability to effectively communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organization levels. Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers.
