Job Description Pennoni Associates, a leading engineering and design consulting firm, is current seeking a Natural Gas Pipeline Construction Inspector with experience consistent with, but not limited to: * Oversight of transmission and distribution construction projects involving steel or plastic pipe * Experience with welding inspection on gas transmission and distribution projects * Performing visual inspections of welds and piping material * Tracking and documenting welds and piping materials * Overseeing pipe strength tests, including hydrostatic test procedures * Familiarity with applicable American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) codes and standards *Work is not limited to Virginia Beach area and can occur anywhere throughout the state of Virginia. Job Requirements: * Must possess the following certifications: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) in API 1104 certification, National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Level 1 Certification, Valid Virginia Driver's License * 4 to 7 years of experience as a Construction/Utility Inspector * Minimum 3 years of welding inspection experience on gas transmission or distribution projects * High School Diploma Required * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office * Must be able to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays * Ability to work for extended periods at a time * Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Preferred Attributes: * Proven problem solving and documentation abilities * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong communication and organizational skills
