Responsibilities for this Pipeline requisition are: Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Air & Missile Defense Systems (A&MDS) serves as Northrop Grumman Information Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination. Individual will perform end-to-end analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the systems engineering process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).The selected individual will develop simulation tools and models of the functional and technical performance of proposed advanced sensors and lasers in the BMDS architecture and future concepts. Selected individual will use these tools/models to evaluate specific scenarios in the Integrated Discrimination Decision Logic (IDDL) program. IDDL is focused on exploring the possibilities of system performance improvements by adding or modifying the types of sensors and the way that data is processed and ultimately the way that decisions are made from the data. The IDDL analysis has the potential to result in the development of countermeasure mitigation strategies and requirements. Individual may act as a subject matter expert on advanced Electro-Optics Infrared (EO/IR) sensor model development, EO/IR threat characteristics, EO/IR component level performance drivers, high energy lasers, orbital mechanics, and missile simulations. Individual may act as a team lead and be responsible for the planning and progress reporting of model development and analysis tasks and coordination with functional working group leads, senior management and government counterparts. The individual will document results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.
