Lorenz Engineering, a division of The Salem Group, is looking to add a Mechanical Drafter/Designer with 3-8 years' experience to their growing team in the greater Alexandria, VA area. This individual will be working with on-site at one of Lorenz's cornerstone clients, a Nationwide Engineering Firm, on a multi-year project out of their offices in Springfield, VA. Desired candidates will perform design functions using AutoCAD as well as prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs by hand or using computer-aided design software. Additionally, they will be performing drawing checks to confirm accuracy and acceptability guided by drafting standards/specifications. Previous experience in the Gas Distribution sector is strongly preferred as is the ability to utilize GIS to manage data collection, manipulation, storage and map production.The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a collaborative approach to problem solving, possesses strong oral and written communication skills and is someone able to work with minimal instruction/supervision on a day-to-day basis.drafting microstation autocad design oil gas pipeline civil mechanical
